2012 CtG i.

This years cycle from Malahide to Glendalough (via Dublin City Centre, Ballsbridge, Dundrum, Murray’s house in Leopardstown, The Powerscourt Arms Country House in Enniskerry, The Coach House in Roundwood & Lynhams of Laragh) started on Friday 29th of June 2012.  This year David Sheehan, Eoghan Stuart, Robert Lee, John O’Gorman & Michael Callan cycled to Glendalough, Co.Wicklow and Ken O’Gorman drove the support vehicle due to a back injury.  Thankfully everyone made it in one piece.  Regrettably Murray Ahern has to pull out at the last minute due to surgery but he will be undertaking the cycle later this summer.

I would like to thank Moira Ahern, Adam Ahern, Aimee Ahern & Thomas Darcy for waving David Sheehan and Eoghan Stuart off from the start in Seapark. They were joined by Robert Lee and John O’Gorman in Dublin City Centre and by Michael Callan in Ballsbridge (not sure if he was having a Heino at the time). This year the weather was good for cycling and the lads had a very relaxing cycle down to Glendalough which included some whiskey and a video conference to Murray in hospital from Murray’s house in Leopardstown.

As with last year, the guys enjoyed some local cuisine and beverages and then threw in a four hour hike around the lakes on the Saturday and a swim in the nearby resevoir on the Sunday.  This year they upgraded to the Glendalough Hotel and after hearing the feedback this may now be a regular feature.

I would like to thank my friends for continuing to support this enjoyable occasion and we look forward to doing it again in the summer of 2013.
