The 2013 cycle from Malahide to Glendalough (via Dublin City Centre, Ballsbridge, Donnybrook, Dundrum, Stepaside, Enniskerry, Roundwood & Lynhams of Laragh) took place on Saturday 16th & Sunday 17th November.
This year Murray Ahern, John Doyle and Eoghan Stuart departed from Seapark and were bugled off by a large group of supporters. We were later joined in Malahide by Ken O’Gorman and by Mick Callan and John O’Gorman in Ballsbridge and finally by Colin McGhee in Donnybrook. We then cycled on to Enniskerry where we stopped off for some lunch and on to Glendalough via Powerscourt and Roundwood.
I would like to thank the Ahern’s, Maurice, Moira, Katie, Keith, Julia and Aimee. The Stuart’s, Michael, Ita, Eilise, Liam and Reuben and also Yvonne Doyle for their great support as we headed off from Seapark . I would like to thank those up above for giving us lovely weather for the cycle especially when you consider it took place in mid-November.
As with last year, we all enjoyed some local cuisine and beverages and a good night’s sleep in the Glendalough Hotel.
I would like to thank all the families and friends for continuing to support this very enjoyable occasion and we look forward to doing it again in the summer of 2014 which will mark the 25th anniversary of the original cycle in 1989.
